So....

I am blogging under compulsion not inspiration, so prepare yourself for tangents and ramblings.

The day after tomorrow (that would be Thursday) Matt and I are flying out with some friends to the Great Northwest. There will be lots of fine dining and laughing. Matt's favorite beer makes its home in Washington state....Mac & Jack's African Amber. He can't wait.

I can't wait to sleep in, hang out with friends and eat really well. And when I say "eat really well"...I don't mean healthy...I mean savory, probably-negated-any-working-out-I-may-have-recently-done. Yay.

In other news, I've been swimming. My friend Barkley is a fantastic, could-have-gone-to-the-Olympics swimmer. She's my new swimming coach. I even bought a swim cap. I look totally hot in it...with my bulging goggle-eyes. Freestyle, I think I've got down; breaststroke, not so much. But, I have great aspirations of finishing a 50m breaststroke without gulping half of the water in the pool.

Two excruciating words: strength and training. Strength training class has kicked my tush (and man, do I feel it exactly in that area)! Last week, I could finally walk down the stairs one foot after the other without grunting or gasping in pain on Friday. The class was Monday. The instructor's favorite saying: "Do you want results six months from now or tomorrow???" In the moment, I would be happy to get results thirty-six months later.

Last tid-bit: we're looking into co-op homeschooling for Audrey. Never thought I would be up for it, but the Lord is slowly but surely changing my heart. The little girl who made her younger brother endure homemade worksheets and lectures is starting to reemerge.

That's all, folks. Pictures of our trip should follow.

(sigh) yet another person that is dedicated to working out. I am very impressed, and yet...very annoyed that I haven't started doing it again! Thanks for posting that!
I feel inspired :)

Talk to me more on the co-op homeschooling. I just went to Sally Clarkson's Whole-Hearted Womens Conference and met some incredible women. Many of these women homeschooled. I know, I never thought I would even THINK about it, but the Lord is whispering in my ear...
Love,

Glad to hear you are doing well. With my aunt 30 minutes away, we are going to be picking her and my uncles brains over the next year or so about homeschooling....she is homeschooling ALL 4 of her kids (ages 11-17).

On the sore front...totally get you, I have discovered SPINNING. LOVE IT! I go 8:45 M,T,TH,FR. I have a hard time walking on Wed and Sat, but it's getting better.

Have a fun trip. It has always been in my heart to be able to take vacations with friends...I am longing for the days that we can start doing that. See you in 2 weeks. Yipee!!

I too enjoyed your tangents and ramblings. Let me know when the next 'swim competition' is so I can come cheer you on as your cross the finish line in your swimming cap and goggles. Does wearing one of those make your faster or something? :) Who knew about Barkeley!
Well, you and 'the gang' have a fabulous time up in Northwest!!!
Audrey...wow, home-school momma!! I think you would do a great job teaching music and writing classes. :)

Yes, take lots of fun pictures in Seattle. I wish I was going, too. Keith and my brother, Aaron, will be there. Y'all have a great time!

I totally love home-schooling, before we started I never would have imagined doing it, but the Lord totally softened my heart and now this is our forth year. We have attended Denton Calvary Academy for 3 of those years and home-schooled alone last year. Last year was a great year but Rebecca is a people person and loves DCA. I am so excited that you guys are thinking about it because it really is an amazing experience for all.

I was homeschooled my entire pre-college career (as were my younger siblings) and I absolutely loved it. We were involved in a co-op in McKinney for many years and it made a huge difference I think. We got a fantastic education at home, but the "enrichment classes" were just another experience entirely. I think it was nice for both my mom and me to have someone else who was able to teach classes in something that she wouldn't have been able to. I'm sure I could find out about some co-ops in your area if you need 'em.

Hope your trip is amazing!

Have a wonderful trip with your man.

I've just said a prayer asking God to give you wisdom about the whole homeschool thing. He'll show you what you're to do. This is our second year and we love it. There are tough days, but for this season it's what God has called us to do and for our family it's been awesome!

Blessings

I will be thinking about you tomorrow! Here's why: I was minding my own business half-heartedly doing squats in my BodyPump Class today (probably very similar to your Strength and Training Class) and the words "do you want results in 6 months or tomorrow?" blasted through my head! Ouch. That’s going to hurt tomorrow! My cardio instructor also always says "you never regret how hard you work." So between the two of you I should be practically immobile from the pain soon! Oh well...I guess that means its working!

Hope you guys are doing well. Have a great trip!
